My name is Gabrielle, and I want to share the story of BAR ROOT!
After experiencing some chronic pain a few years ago, I began diving into a spiritual and wellness journey. Soon, I would discover so many new ways of living, and nature became one of my primary sources of inspiration and energy.
As a Women's Health enthusiast, I started to connect with my body by learning different healing modalities, movements, Adaptogens, daily practices and cyclical living...to name but a few. Arguably, one of the biggest aspects to my healing journey was to completely reconsider the food I consumed.
I started to invest in my food, purchasing as high-quality ingredients that I could afford at the time, with a focus on plants to improve my Gut-Microbiome and overall health. My menstrual cycle also impacted the food I bought, and Intuitive Eating in response to my cycle is something I am still working on. This is where I discovered The Cacao Ceremony!
I learn't about the women who use cacao ceremony to mark and celebrate the start of a new cycle. They used the cacao to give thanks to the earth and their bodies, nourishing themselves with the Iron and Magnesium they craved at this time, and to indulge in the rich taste of Cocoa.
I fell in love with the practice, and soon Cacao became a part of my everyday. My love for chocolate has always been strong, but Cacao has allowed me to appreciate the full plant itself, where the Cocoa Bean comes from, and why we should be sourcing our cocoa from farmers who are truly respected.
At Bar Root, I strive to educate people on the wonders of cacao, the health benefits it can bring, along with the beautiful practice of cacao ceremony. I want to share premium, high-quality Cacao, to make sure nobody is underpaid or under-appreciated along the way.
